Dear Jackson,
I can’t believe it. That’s what you said this morning, because your birthday is finally here. The wait is over and judging by the big smile on your face, it feels great to be eight.
You certainly deserve a day dedicated to you. In typical middle child fashion, you sometimes stand in the shadows of your older brother and lack the attention of your younger sister. You’re truly the best brother, and the glue of our family. You tolerate all Brady’s bossy demands, and are as excited to watch his baseball games as he is to play in them. On the flip side, you and Avery get on like gangbusters. You have so much fun when it’s just the two of you, in contrast to your brother and sister who are more like oil and water.
After having your last baseball season cancelled due to Covid, it has been so so fun watching you play and succeed this season. You love playing catcher you’re good at it! You have shone on the field this year during your undefeated season, and watching your excitement after you took first place in Slugfest was really a treat.
Speaking of treats, it really is a gift being your mom. I love your sensitive soul. You’re always taking the temperature of the room and looking out for other people. You don’t have an unkind bone in your body and love hard.
I love you so hard, Jackson, and am so glad you are mine.
Love,
Mom
