So far, so good for my traveling champs, though our trips are never devoid of adventures. The adventure began Thursday night (actually Friday morning) when Avery woke up at 3 am crying. She wouldn't go back to sleep and kept complaining that her face hurt. After an hour, I figured out it was her ear that actually hurt and around 5, we both passed out due to exhaustion. A quick trip to the doctor (where, by the way, this girl absolutely loses her mind), and a prescription of antibiotics later, we were ready to get on a flight across the country. Or as ready as we would ever be.
First, we have to empty our pockets of all weapons.
Avery is here, clear out the plane!!
If I wasn't working on 5 hours of sleep, Averys antics on the plane may have amused me more. Like her not falling asleep until 11:30, and waking an hour before we landed.
Her first drink of Ginger Ale!
Which landed on her pants!
She took care of Elmo and made sure her baby was ready for landing.
I do have two other children, but they require much less attention during these trips. We landed, bussed to our hotel, and found that they messed up our rooms. So it was 1am local time by the time we finally got into our room, which, was 4am EST. All things considered, my kids were great champs!
This is them at 7:30 the next morning, seemingly well rested and ready to start the day! (Note: they crashed hard in the afternoon)
Stanfords campus is beautiful, especially in the Fall with the changing leaves. This was as close to church as we got on Sunday morning.
Grandma and Pop made the trip across the country, so it was fun to play with them. We also got to visit with some old friends, and came away from the trip with a Tar Heel win.
We need to work on Avery makeup application.
On to the next adventure!
