At the moment, I'm 3,000 feet up flying from Dallas to San Francisco. Jackson is sleeping in my arms like the angel baby he is, I'm drinking a glass of wine and I'm wondering why we don't travel all the time. Ok, so I can think of at least 45 off the top of my head.
My strategy to travel at bedtime seems to be paying off, although it's not without risks (flight delays, uncooperative children, etc). We were delayed an hour out of Raleigh and we sprinted to make our connection. Correction: I did an awkward run in a long skirt with a large baby strapped to my chest while Eric hobbled on his bum ankle while pushing Brady in the stroller. Without kids, we would have made our 7 pm flight...but as a family of four, we arrived a minute after the gates closed. We'd been told there was only 2 spots on the next flight, so we were disappointed when we missed our connection. Correction: Eric was furious. But it turned out to be a great thing because we got on the 8:30 flight and we needed the layover to eat and get the wiggles out.
So now the scene in front of me: Brady and daddy were both watching "Frozen" on Eric's computer (is it even out yet? I think Eric has a pirated copy which surely carries a sentence of jail time). It's 10:30 eastern time and Brady took off his headphones and said he was done and wanted to sleep. So we took off his shoes, got him snuggled up, told him a story. While this was happening I noticed Eric was making no moves to turn off the movie. So now, my husband is completely and unashamedly engrossed the the blockbuster "Frozen" while his son sleeps next to him.
Next thing we know, he'll be belting out "Let it Go" in the shower. I guess only real men watch Frozen.
Edited to add: Frozen has ended, Brady has woken up (was he really sleeping?), and now the two boys are watching game film on Eric's computer. UNC vs Providence during the NCAA tourney. Spoiler: Heels win.

Hope you guys made it safely to CA! If it makes you feel any better about Eric watching "Frozen," Chris actually recorded "Magic Mike" on HBO the other night and told me it's because he heard it was a good movie...
