In case you were concerned, I did manage to sign up for Pinterest due to an invitation from a friend (thanks Beth). And wow, what a world it has opened up for me. I'm not a paid spokesperson, although one of the inventors is an Iowan who played Little League with my brother, so maybe I can work something out.
Anyway, if you're not familiar with it, Pinterest is essentially virtual crack. If it had been around when I was planning my wedding, my head might have exploded. The thing I love about it is that you can literally spend 5 minutes on it and walk away with 20 ideas in your head. No digging needed. No having to save a million different websites in your favorites. For the creatively challenged like myself, it is a gold mine.
Anyway, Pinterest has ignited my need to make something and it's been arts & crafts time in the Hoots household since I joined. Eric's "man room" has been taken over with canvases and paint and our family room, in addition to cars, balls, and every imaginable toy that makes noise, now has scissors, x-acto knives and contact paper. Hmm, I thought about re-writing that last sentence lest social services gets wind of this website. I realize toys (ie babies) and x-acto knives don't exactly mix. I promise these things are out of the reach of Brady...for now.
I had a big project in mind...something to put over our kitchen table, but thought I should do something a little smaller in scale before diving into something big. We recently painted our bathroom gray and decorated with new purple towels and accessories. I wanted to make something for the wall and here is what I (Pinterest) came up with.
And here's a sneak peak of what I'm working on next!
