Merry Christmas!

Christmas! Of course, at our house, we keep perspective as to why we are celebrating. So imagine my pride when we were talking to my sister-in-law, Ada, this morning, and I asked Brady if he knew who's birthday it was.  "Ada!" he answered correctly. "And who else?" I asked. "Santa!" he exclaimed...before quickly correcting himself.

In truthfulness, Brady didn't get too wrapped up in the gifts and we had to remind him that Santa would be coming to deliver presents this year. A few weeks before Christmas and we only had two presents under the tree -- one for each of the boys from my parents. Someone asked Brady about what presents he was getting and he replied that he already had his present under the tee. Proud mom moment that was altered of course, as soon as Christmas actually arrived and he learned really quick what Christmas was REALLY about: presents, and more presents.

Can you find the people among the presents?

We spent a few days at Eric's parents house before coming back home (to open more presents).  Every day was a blast for kids, but of course, there is something special about Christmas morning.  Despite the mound of presents, Brady did what he does best: wear his jersey and get up shots.

The boys were asleep within 2 minutes of pulling out of the driveway this afternoon.  Santa may be tired from delivering gifts to a billion children across the word, but playing is hard work too!

Brady's gift from Grandma and Grandpa Howe was a big hit back at home (see below).  And the gift of a racetrack from his cousin Emma took his mom about 40 minutes to put together.  Public service announcement: the Hoots household will no longer be accepting gifts in which assembly requires more than 3 steps (open box, open present, play with present).  Also, any gifts that sing when you shake them will be promptly sent to my favorite charity, "Underprivileged Children of the Hearing Impaired." Thanks for your time.

I'll leave you with my favorite picture of the day!

We almost got him to wear his new PJ's to bed.  Novel idea, but then he decided he wanted to go play with his football figures again and of course, that requires a football jersey.
