Snoozers

The boys and I had a great week at home after our big trip and it felt good to get back into a routine. The biggest difference between two kids and three is my desire to just stay home. We had some friends over this week to break up the long days, and made some trips to the gym...and Michaels, but now that the boys don't nap (consistently), I hesitate to go out in the afternoons, because one inevitably falls asleep in the car, and is grumpy after waking and wants to be carried. And because of that whole I-have-a-baby thing, it just doesn't work.  And then they can't fall asleep at night. Two nights this week, all three kids were asleep by 7:30. And Eric was gone both of those nights, so that was an feat I accomplished on my own (easier, somehow, than when daddy's home).

Sweet Jackson needs a nap at last every other day, but with no paci, he just doesn't want to lie in bed, and I don't push it (because frankly, it's easier when Brady has a playmate).  But when exhaustion hits, you just need to nap.

Brady napped in the car yesterday when Eric took them out for dinner, which resulted in a wired kid at bedtime. Eric crashed early and Brady came down 30 minutes after I put him to bed, letting me know daddy fell asleep while watching the conference (Olympics). I let him hang out for a while before sending him back up and when I went upstairs to bed, this was what I found.

Avery had her best night in a month last night! Only woke up once at 2.  Nobody is happier to be home than that girl. She likes her routine.

And loves her brothers, despite appearances.

And loves her mom, despite being burnt by her hot coffee. That story next....
