Let the madness begin

We're back in Chapel Hill after an extended weekend away in Atlanta for the ACC tournament.  Besides the outcome of the last game, it was a lovely trip.  Some highlights:

-Embassy Suites: Free hot breakfast and free happy hour.  Both make me happy.  Most "nice" hotels we stay at have $45 breakfast buffets (I'm exaggerating....barely) so I thoroughly enjoyed my free daily, made to order, omelet.

Have your omelets, I'll have my Cheerios.  Pretty sure my mom saw this storage idea on Pinterest.

-Uncle Dave and Aunt Claire stayed with us, and it was nice to have their help (and their company).  The personal highlight was when Dave would pick Brady up in the middle of the night when he was crying and hand him to me.  Firstly, because it meant I didn't have to get out of bed.  Secondly, because my lower back has been bothering me and bending to the ground to pick up a 18 lb object at a time when your back is particularly tight is not comfortable.  Thirdly, because I didn't have to get out of the bed.  Except to put him back...unless I felt like Eric needed something to do.  So, as his wife pointed out, certainly Dave will have to one day do for his own child what he did for his nephew...right Claire?

Brady was more relaxed during the game than anyone else in the arena.  He had a knack for falling asleep when the noise was at its loudest.

-Brady took one bath while we were away and we noticed he was tooting in the tub, evidenced by the bubbles at his butt.  Which made me think about how we've never had to deal with a "floater" since Brady's been bathing.  Which, of course changed about 10 seconds after I had that thought.  The highlight here is that Brady decided to poop in someone else's tub.

-Brady can now crawl like a normal baby, on his knees.  This doesn't mean he chooses to on a regular basis, but he took multiple "steps" on his knees this weekend.  Most times, thought, he reverts back to Old Faithful, and goes army-style.

Hey everybody!  Come see how good I look!
 - I drove down to Atlanta with two friends.  Itt took us about 6 hours (including one 15-minute stop) and I was fairly exhausted when we arrived at 8:30 on Thursday night, despite not having to drive myself.  Most time was spent occupying Brady in the back seat, but the last hour was spent trying to calm him.  He did well the first 5 hours, but the combination of bedtime, being in his car seat too long, and glaring at me as I didn't pick him up, made for an unhappy baby.  Note this is not the highlight of the trip. But, on the way back, we were able to hitch a ride on a private plane, so we arrived in Chapel Hill in time for dinner, bath, and a bed.  That was good for both our psyches (Brady and mine).
As usual, Brady took the weekend in stride. I put him through the ringer...exposing him to loud games, lots of people, and naps in my arms, so we spent a nice day today relaxing and getting back into our routine.  Until next weekend, of course.

March Madness is here!
