Birthday dreams

Eric's birthday began at midnight.  He came home around this time fired up because in the annual Duke/UNC manager game (played in Cameron Indoor Stadium the night before the "real" game), the Tar Heels prevailed, despite starting down 15-0.  I am sure it was the coaching (Eric) that brought them back in the game.  Lucky for him, he got to share his joy with his son, who was up at this time, just finishing his first night feeding and having no interest in going back to sleep.

The birthday blessings continued though the night.  After getting back into bed after a 4am Brady wake-up, I mentioned to my half-awake 31-year-old husband that it was raining hard outside.  If I could have seen in the dark, I would have seen a wide grin.  He voiced his dreamy pleasure at the thought of the Duke students in their tents in Krzyzewskiville (where the "Cameron Crazies" camp out before baseketball games) getting rained on.  This was Eric's first birthday present.

Our morning was lovely and consisted of homemade cinnamon rolls and lounging around.

My view at 9 am:

If you can imagine, my view got even better.

9 pm:

I love both pictures so much I don't think I could pick a favorite.

If you know my husband, you know a better script could not have been written for his 31st birthday.  32 has lots to live up to.
