Driving home from lunch this afternoon, I came upon a homeless man on the median. I opened my window and gave him a bag of Cheez-Its. He said thanks, went back to sit on his bucket, and immediately ripped open the bag. It made me feel bad that he was so hungry that he couldn't even wait for the light to turn, but I felt good that I could be the one to provide him with a snack. Imagine my suprise when he started tossing the Cheez-Its to the dog lying at his feet.
When I read his "Homeless and Hungry" sign, I made some false assumptions about who he was talking about.
This homeless man from this blog post taught me that homeless people will take anything, and my latest encounter taught me that homeless dogs will do the same.
